How to add users using the contact information from a CSV file?

Introduction

Are you tired to add the people to the system manually one by one? This guide will show you how
to add several users at once in no time.

Following these easy steps you will be able to save your contacts in a .csv file and then add them
to your TeamLab portal.

Step 1. Create a CSV file

If you have already a spreadsheet file containing the contact information you need to import to your portal just save it to a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file format and proceed to the Step 2.

To create a new CSV file, start a new spreadsheet using our Documents module.

In the 1st three columns of the table enter the necessary contact information strictly in the following order: Email, First Name, Last Name.

When all the contacts are entered download the document as a .csv file.

Step 2. Load the created CSV file to the portal

Enter your TeamLab portal and click the Add Users link at the top of the page.

In case you have already logged in to the portal and been using it for some time click the Community link at the top of the page, switch to the Employees tab and use the Add Users link on the Actions panel.

The Add users to the portal window opens. Click the From File button. The File Upload window opens. Browse your hard disk drive for the created .csv file.

Step 3. Manage the contacts and start importing

All the available contact information will be displayed within the Add users to the portal window.

Check the list. Specify the user first and last name if absent.

To delete the user from the list use the Delete icon - recycle bin icon which appears to the right when you point at the user.

When everything is done click the Add selected users button to start adding.

The selected users will be added to the portal right away. The added users will receive an email notification with a link to your portal.

If you need to add a newcomer to your portal and have access to his detailed information you can make use of the New User option.
